What Shopify is the right choice for
Shopify takes everything off the merchant’s hands that has to do with operation: hosting, updates, platform security, scaling during peaks, payment processing. That makes it the easy way in — a shop with a clearly defined range, standard processes and consumers as the target group is up quickly and runs without an administrator. Whoever has never sold online before or wants to test a new line of business gets a working result at predictable monthly costs with Shopify.
Our work begins where the template ends: theme adaptation, product data from the ERP or PIM, payment and shipping providers, legal texts, tracking with consent, and the connection to the systems that already run in the company. That is the same interface work as for any other shop — except that the shop itself runs at Shopify, not with us.
Where Shopify reaches its limits
The strength is also the limit: because the vendor controls the platform, the vendor decides what is possible. B2B requirements such as customer hierarchies, approval workflows, customer-specific pricing or OCI punch-out for your key accounts’ procurement can be modelled in Shopify only through apps and workarounds — or not at all. Data sits with the provider, checkout and server location cannot be chosen freely, and every app is another monthly item and another dependency.
That is why we ask in the first conversation where the shop is supposed to grow. If it stays with consumers and standard processes, Shopify is a good choice. If B2B, complex pricing, tight ERP integration or custom processes are on the horizon, we plan with Shopware 6 right away — or the later move there, with products, customers and order history.
From entry to expansion
A shop that started with Shopify and outgrows the system is not a mistake but a success. We plan the migration to Shopware 6 like any system change: products, customers, order history and media are transferred in a structured way, redirects protect the rankings, and everything is reconciled before go-live. Whoever keeps this in mind from the start maintains product data so that it survives the move — in the ERP or PIM, not only in the shop.
