01 Starting point

Nursery stock is not a fixed range. Availability depends on the season, on lifting and on the weather, and the same plant exists in several qualities and grades: height, girth, container or root ball. A catalogue that does not reflect this produces a query on every second order.

Trade is B2B, typically with nurseries, landscaping and gardening contractors, local authorities and resellers. Prices are not meant for the public. The shop therefore sits behind a registration that is checked and approved before any price is visible at all.

02 Solution

The shop is built as a closed area on Shopware. New customers register through a form and approval is granted after a check; only then do range and prices become visible. Customer groups control which terms an approved account gets to see.

The structure of the range follows botanical classification, with grades and qualities held as variants of the article. Search finds botanical names as well as German ones, so that an order does not fail on a spelling.

Interfaces take stock levels, prices and range changes from the leading system and hand orders back in structured form. The syncs run as scheduled jobs, because in this trade stock shifts considerably within a single season.

03 Result

Orders arrive with the details that picking needs: species, grade, quality, quantity. That takes rounds of clarification between sales and the yard out of the daily routine.

The closed access stays manageable because registration, approval and pricing sit in the same system. Range maintenance and seasonal changes run through the interface instead of through lists attached to emails.
